Plumber Apprenticeship programs provide a great way to enter the plumbing field. There are plumbing apprenticeship programs throughout California.
Common qualifications/requirements to become an apprentice plumber in California include:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Be physically able to perform the work of the trade
- Able to read, write and speak the English language
- Able to attend training classes
- Show a valid California driver’s license
- Demonstrate legal right to work in the United States.

Apprentice Program Duration
Five (5) years, the apprentice will work 9000 hours of on-the-job training and attend 1080 hours of related training classes.
